DeFi Fundamentals & First Steps

DeFi Fundamentals & First Steps provides an introduction to decentralized finance (DeFi) and its evolution from traditional financial systems (TradFi). Students will explore the foundational concepts, technologies, and risks associated with DeFi, including the use of blockchain networks, smart contracts, decentralized exchanges, and self-custodied wallets. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and guided practical exercises, students will learn how to set up a digital wallet, interact with decentralized applications on blockchain test networks, and execute basic DeFi transactions. Emphasis is placed on security best practices, safe participation, and understanding the broader implications of decentralized finance for global markets. No prior experience with cryptocurrency or blockchain is required. Upon completion, students will have the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the DeFi ecosystem with confidence and prepare for more advanced topics in decentralized finance.
